Virtual Visits and Events

Though restrictions on gatherings have limited our in-person campus visits, we are excited to offer a range of virtual visits and events open to all prospective students and families! No matter where you are, our virtual events and visits allow you engage with the Mercyhurst community, get answers to your questions, and experience what it’s like to be a Laker.

Virtual Visits

Our virtual campus visits give you the chance to experience the history, academic culture, hospitality, and spirit of community that animate life at Mercyhurst. During your virtual visit, you’ll take a video tour of our campus (known as one of the most beautiful in the region!) and meet with your admissions counselor — all while discovering why Hurst is Home.

If you’re thinking of making a virtual visit to Mercyhurst, check out our Mercyhurst Welcome guide. This PDF includes all the information prospective students and families need to get to know MU — including details on the application and financial aid processes, academic programs, student life, and more — and is a great resource to have on hand when you’re meeting virtually with an admissions counselor.

Virtual Events

Program Spotlights

Program Spotlight events allow prospective students and their families to chat with faculty and current students about specific programs offered at Mercyhurst. You'll hear from our panelists regarding curriculum, student-faculty interaction, experiential learning projects, and have the opportunity to have your questions about your program of interest answered.

Coffee and Conversations

Join other prospective students and families in chats with current students, organizations, and offices in a casual setting, as they provide valuable information on a Mercyhurst education and the student experience.

Mercyhurst Information Sessions

Join other prospective students and families in chats with current students and admissions representatives, as they provide valuable information on a Mercyhurst education. These events are designed to provide overviews of the admissions and financial aid processes while also giving prospective students first-hand knowledge about academics and student life at Mercyhurst.

Financial Aid Nights

The financial aid process can seem complex and overwhelming for prospective students and families. Mercyhurst’s Virtual Financial Aid Sessions break down the process for you and your family while showing you how affordable a Mercyhurst education can be. During these virtual events, you'll hear from representatives from the Mercyhurst Admissions team and Student Financial Services office, as we discuss scholarship and grant opportunities. We'll also explain how the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) works, which can prove helpful for students that haven't yet submitted a FAFSA and received a Mercyhurst financial aid package.

Live Campus Tours

Our Live Campus Tour events allow you to embark on a full campus tour right from home! Led by student Ambassadors and admissions representatives, we’ll explore academic spaces, residence halls, dining facilities, student life centers, and more in real time while giving you an inside look at campus.

Faculty Fridays

Faculty Friday virtual events give you and other prospective students and families the chance to meet with current faculty from a variety of departments. Learn about why they enjoy teaching at Mercyhurst, the classroom experience, their teaching philosophies, and why they ultimately call Hurst home!

Academics in Action

Academics in Action events allow participants to engage with our faculty members in a discussion around a specific topic, much like they would do in their courses at Mercyhurst. These topics surround current events and cutting-edge research and are designed to be accessible to those with no background on the topic or those with pre-existing knowledge who wish to take part in collegial discourse with our panelists.

Virtual Campus Tour

Although current public health challenges prevent us from hosting you for an in-person campus visit, you can still explore Mercyhurst and discover the Laker Life without leaving home! Our Virtual Campus Tour provides prospective students and families the opportunity to experience campus from the safety and comfort of their home.

Our Campus

The only thing that does our campus justice is our campus. From Mercyhurst’s beginning in 1926, founder Mother Borgia Egan sought to establish our campus as the “beauty spot in the diocese of Erie.” The English Gothic elements of Old Main, designed by prominent Philadelphia architect F. Ferdinand Durang, are carried throughout our academic buildings, athletic facilities and student residences, effecting an ideal setting for university life. As you walk under the Gothic arches and across the open greens and brick courtyards, you’ll find places on campus for everything from quiet study to a pickup game of Frisbee with friends.
